What is Band Neutrophils?
Young neutrophils, and this measures their share among your white blood cells.
Band neutrophils are immature versions of neutrophils that the body may release when demand for these infection-fighting cells rises. This value is the proportion version reported on a differential and pairs with the absolute band count when that is given. A higher share, sometimes called a left shift, can be associated with an active infection or inflammation. Bands are usually counted when a lab reviews a blood smear by hand.
