What is Prolymphocytes?
An early stage of lymphocyte that a lab may identify on a blood smear, reported as a share of white blood cells.
Prolymphocytes are a developing form of lymphocyte that is not usually seen in large numbers in normal blood. This is a finding a lab sees on a blood smear under the microscope and is described as a proportion of the white blood cells. Seeing more of them can be associated with certain blood conditions that a doctor would look into further. It is reported during a manual review of the smear.
