What is Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR)?

Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) is a calculated number that estimates how many milliliters of blood the kidneys filter each minute, adjusted to a standard body size. It is the primary measure used to stage kidney function.
